Jenna & Andrew’s Engagement Session
Lancaster County Park Lancaster PA
HOW THEY MET
They both got bored one day and decided to try Facebook dating, which was new. They matched and talked for a few days asking loads of questions. Before they even met they knew they were going to be great together. Their first date was at Dave and Buster’s. They spent hours eating, talking, and playing games until it closed. They were the last people to leave. They didn’t want to leave each other and planned several more dates. It was a match from the beginning.
HOW THEY FELL IN LOVE
It was basically loved when they first started getting to know each other. And after they met, it only grew. Their love continues to grow every day.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?!?!
It was Andrews’s birthday, days before our 7-month milestone. Jenna took Andrew on a blindfolded adventure to Loch Raven Reservoir for a surprise hike but it was all blocked off and closed due to COVID. Andrew ended up surprising her while they were there. Jenna parked in a no-parking area just so they could at least go for a quick walk near the water. Andrew brought his book bag with him. They sat down on a fallen tree and he set up a camera and told her he was doing a time-lapse video while they sat down. She fell for it. Andrew had been planning for months on how he was going to propose. But the whole COVID thing happened and changed his original plans.
A few months prior to this, Jenna’s father was in town from Florida visiting them and on his last day, Andrew let him know he was going to propose to his daughter. Andrew got his blessing. That visit was the first time Andrew had met and spoken to him.
They were sitting on the tree, Andrew had made an “explosion” box and gave it to her as an early 7 months gift. A box full of pictures and memories of them since they met. Each layer had pictures of their dates and adventures and handwritten notes and drawings. She was tearing up while reading each heartfelt layer. One of the final layers asked her if she was ready for the next chapter. It read, “What’s next?” The last layer had the ring box. At this point, she started full-on crying. She opened the box to find no ring, just a note that said, “turn around”. When she opened the box, Andrew got down on one knee and said his speech and proposed to her. She cried happy tears and managed to say YES!! It was the happiest day of Andrew’s life. Getting that “YES” was amazing!
They took some really nice post-proposal photos while there, but sadly not quick enough… a DNR Officer showed up and was so rude, he started yelling at them about parking in a no-parking zone and how he couldn’t believe we would do that and how he could give them so many fines. He was a total buzzkill! So they left the park and continued their happy day elsewhere. It was quite a memorable experience.
