Sara & Zach’s Engagement Session, Worth It Hollow, Kirkwood, PA
THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION!
What a FUN day! I went out to Sara & Zach’s farm, Woerth It Hollow in Kirkwood, PA and we had an amazing time! I was able to learn A LOT about training horses and the amount of time it takes to run a farm. I think the best part of their session was when 1 of their horses horse LEFT US! She was done and decided to take off on us when no one was looking. She made it safe and sound back to her stables and gave us a great story to tell for years to come. Woerth It Hollow aims to provide therapeutic qualities in a farm setting for Veterans and the disabled by teaching farming skills and the rehabilitation of rescued equine and other animals, thus allowing all involved to gain stable ground and another chance. Take a look at their website if you’d like to learn more! They are in the very early stages of wedding planning and Shay Scala Photography wishes them lots of luck in this next chapter of their lives. Here’s their love story told in their own words!
HOW YOU MET?
Through Facebook. Sara and I had become friends and she had commented on two posts of mine about me taking her fishing. So I sent her this message.

If you respond…. which I’m praying you do…. it might take me a little to respond… running to Home Depot to get a bunch of stuff for my parents rental house I’m remodeling…..
Sara immediately responded and we went on our first date about a week later. She was nervous and claimed she only wanted to be friends as she was not ready to get into a relationship. I simply let her know I had enough friends and wanted to pursue dating her and if she was not okay with that then I was going to walk away. Needless to say we have been together ever since.
HOW YOU FELL IN LOVE?
When I realized that Sara was a true country girl/ farm girl/ horse girl and her heart was unlike anyone I had ever encountered, I just knew.
Zach was unlike anyone I had ever met. He knew exactly how to make me laugh and giggle. Being with him was is so easy and organic, he made me feel whole, he continues to make me feel whole. Our communication with one another, and the way we work so well together as partners was unlike anything I have ever known. When he holds me I feel so safe and secure that I know we can get through anything together. I can not pin point the exact moment I knew my heart was forever his, but I do know it was the most comforting and completing feeling I had ever felt. The way he looks at me is something I look forward to every day because it makes me fall in love over and over again.
HOW DID YOU PROPOSE?
I had gone on the hunt for the perfect ring and when I found it, everyday I would think of ways I wanted to propose. All her friends knew but I wanted to ask her father in person for his daughters hand in marriage. Once that happened I waited for the perfect moment.
One evening after Sara had been in the barn washing the horses, cleaning stalls, and was the true Sara I knew at that moment, I wanted to ask her. We were standing in front of our horses stalls chatting, Sara was soaking wet and filthy, hair in a bun, but she was at her best. I got down on one knee and the look in her eyes was all I needed to know, she was mine and I was hers…..
