Lauren & Shane’s Wedding Day
Osbornia Farm Wedding & Event, Quarryville, PA
THE WEDDING DAY!
Lauren & Shane got married and Osbornia Farm Wedding & Event in Quarryville, PA. This is such an AMAZING venue and Shay Scala Photography is blessed to be able to shoot here!
HOW YOU MET?
Thanks to 21st century technology, Lauren and Shane found each other through a dating app in 2016. They started out going on a few dates, and in time the rest was history!
HOW DID YOU PROPOSE?
Lauren and Shane took their first big-time vacation together to Antigua in June 2021 to celebrate their 5th year dating anniversary. Much to Lauren’s surprise, Shane had the hidden intention to propose while on this island vacation. With a ring in his pocket and no plan in sight, Shane was hoping for some inspiration.
At dinner on the first night, the couple was offered a complimentary sunset photoshoot, and asked if they would like to schedule one for their vacation. They both quickly agreed and set up a date and time for the shoot. With that, Shane’s plan was set in motion.
Lauren went from blissfully unaware of the coming question to increasingly suspicious when Shane would ask again and again what she was going to wear during the photoshoot.
During the shoot, Shane started to act a little strange. In one of the photos, while Lauren was posed with her hand on Shane’s chest, she felt his heart racing and knew something was up.
The photographer finished their last shot and told them they did a nice job with their pictures. But then, Shane asked the photographer if he could get one more shot…
He pulled out the ring from his pocket, got down on one knee, and asked Lauren if she would marry him. She was shocked, but still had to make sure he asked her dad.
If you couldn’t tell, she said yes!

WHAT WHAT THE MOST EXCITING THING ABOUT YOUR WEDDING DAY?
The whole wedding day was a blur, and every part was special. Everything from the early day and our private 1:1 time to being surrounded by everyone we love all afternoon/night was awesome.
DID ANYTHING UNEXPECTED HAPPEN?? WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME?
Shane forgot to bring the lunch for the bridal parties as well as the signature Guinness packs that he was supposed to 🙂
We ended up having our future brother in laws pick up the food on their way over and the catering company was willing to make a stop on their way to the venue to pick up the Guinness. Everything worked out with a few phone calls and just a little panic.
WERE YOU NERVOUS? WHAT DID YOU DO TO CALM YOUR NERVES??
We were both nervous, but more-so excited. Having already been legally married and living together, it was all about the ceremony and the reception for us. Being surrounded by people who had been there themselves and wanted the best for us was a huge help and a ton of fun to be around
WHAT SONG DID YOU WALK DOWN THE AISLE TO?
Love Me Like You Do – Ellie Golding, Instrumental Version
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG?? IS THERE ANY SIGNIFICANCE TO IT?
“Spin You Around” by Morgan Wallen. We had a few songs we were thinking about, but we knew we wanted something in the country family and something that was less well-known so it could be more “ours”. This song was a great fit and the David J wedding cover we actually danced to was even better.
WHERE DID YOU GO OR WHERE DO YOU PLAN TO GO ON YOUR HONEYMOON? TELL US ABOUT IT…
We just got back from our honeymoon at Sandals in St. Lucia. After our first vacation to Sandals in Antigua we were hooked on the Sandals experience and ambience, and couldn’t wait to do it again after our wedding. The trip was beautiful, relaxing, and a ton of fun, and I couldn’t recommend it more to anyone!
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO AS A MARRIED COUPLE?
We are looking forward to continuing our growth together, personally and professionally. We are loving our friend and family interactions, and want to continue to give back the love and support we’ve gotten.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ANYONE GETTING MARRIED?
For the wedding day: Focus on the big picture. Sweat the small stuff ahead of time and trust that the people you put in place will handle it on game day. Have fun, and be present. Surround yourself with people that you want to be around and that make you happy. Take peoples’ opinions and advice but at the end of the day do what makes you happy and feels special to you.
For marriage: Be on the same team. There is plenty in life, big and small, that can cause division. Approach your fun, work, and challenges from the same side and communicate. Have fun together. Try not to sweat the small stuff and try not to keep score against one another.
